Baseball Recap: Waltonville Comes Up Short

Waltonville couldn't beat Woodlawn on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Spartans fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 10-9. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Waltonville's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Woodlawn, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Waltonville will head out on the road to square off against Cisne at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Runnin' Lions at the right time seeing as the Runnin' Lions are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Woodlawn, they will face off against Hamilton County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
