Basketball Recap: North Schuylkill Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

North Schuylkill won the last time they faced Schuylkill Haven and things went their way on Thursday too. The North Schuylkill Spartans walked away with a 65-57 win over the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes.

Despite the loss, Schuylkill Haven saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mckenna Runkle posted 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Runkle has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alea Porter, who scored eight points.

North Schuylkill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points over those games. As for Schuylkill Haven, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-5.

North Schuylkill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-38 victory against Williamsport on the 1st. As for Schuylkill Haven, they have also already played their next game, a 41-23 win against Mount Carmel on the 1st.
