Soccer Game Preview: Lane Tech vs. Schaumburg

The Lane Tech Champions will square off against the Schaumburg Saxons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Lane Tech is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Oak Park-River Forest 2-1. That's two games straight that Lane Tech have won by just one goal.

Oren Rehm was the driving force of Lane Tech's attack as he scored both of Lane Tech's goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Schaumburg faced West Chicago in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Saxons never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Schaumburg found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Matt Mianowany and Jeshua (Ronaldo) Loiaza-Veliz were both handed yellow cards.

Schaumburg's win bumped their record up to 15-5-3. As for Lane Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 20-2.
