Volleyball Recap: Poquoson's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Poquoson entered their tilt with Lafayette on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Rams. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Poquoson was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 17-25, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Lafayette saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Laurel Bray had 30 assists and four aces. Bray is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Poquoson's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Poquoson will venture away from home to challenge Bruton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Islanders are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lafayette, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tabb at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
