Basketball Game Preview: Poly Bears vs. Paloma Valley Wildcats

The Poly Bears will square off against the Paloma Valley Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Poly and seven for Paloma Valley.

Poly is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Moreno Valley on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Poly was outmatched by Moreno Valley and fell 84-15. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Poly's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Abby Folsom, who posted seven points, and Elizabeth Murray, who had five points. That was a full 46.7% of Poly's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-36, which was the final score in Paloma Valley's tilt against Rancho Christian on Thursday. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-19.

Paloma Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Poly, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Poly didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Paloma Valley in their previous meeting on January 9th, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory. Does Poly have another victory up their sleeve, or will Paloma Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
