Softball Recap: Daingerfield Comes Up Short

Daingerfield blew Chapel Hill out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Chapel Hill got their revenge. The Tigers fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 16-14. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Daingerfield saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaidence Mason, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Mason has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Allana Kennemar was another, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Daingerfield has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Chapel Hill, they moved to 7-10-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Daingerfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Harmony at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chapel Hill will challenge rival New Diana at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
