Football Recap: Community Comes Up Short

Community extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were beaten by the Sulphur Springs Wildcats 65-7. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-0.

Despite the defeat, Community saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ranti Wilson rushed for 107 yards and one score on only 14 carries.

As for Sulphur Springs, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mason Cooper had an outrageously good game as he threw for 294 yards and six touchdowns while completing 93.8% of his passes. Those 294 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Dobson Martin helped Cooper out on the ground, rushing for 83 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Community didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-0 loss against Celina on the 31st. As for Sulphur Springs, they have also already played their next game, a 38-14 win against Lake Dallas on the 31st.
