Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pine Creek

Pine Creek extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 10-2. They came out on top against the Widefield Gladiators by a score of 8-3. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 18-11 win the Gladiators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Kyleigh Croyle made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Croyle was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Pine Creek let Brayden Dailey and Abigail *Abby* Stenerson run wild. Dailey went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Stenerson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailani *Kai* Shideler, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Widefield fell to 8-1-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Widefield's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Hall, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Pine Creek will look to defend their home field on Monday against Liberty at 3:30 p.m. As for Widefield, they will venture away from home to face off against Mesa Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
