Homestead is 8-2 against Fremont since November of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Homestead Mustangs will square off against the Fremont Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. Homestead is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Homestead is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Monta Vista on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Homestead was outmatched by Monta Vista and fell 70-41. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while the Matadors are ranked 254th).

Meanwhile, Fremont ended up a good deal behind Los Altos on Friday and lost 37-19. The game marked the Firebirds' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Homestead's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-10.

Homestead took a serious blow against Fremont when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 68-38. Can Homestead avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
