Camp begins May 22 with the 12-member team to be announced prior to departing for 2025 FIBA U16 AmeriCup in June.

USA Basketball announced the 52 athletes expected to participate in the U16 National Team training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., running from May 21-26.

The 12-member team will be announced prior to departing for the FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup, scheduled for June 16-22 in Irapuato, Mexico.

Athletes attending training camp were selected by the USA Basketball Women’s Developmental National Team Committee, which is chaired by director Brianna Weiss.

Steve Gomez of Lubbock Christian University will serve as the head coach along with assistants Brittany Johnson of Evanston (Ill.) and Krystle Johnson of Hoover (Ala.). Supporting as coaches during training camp will be Monique Boykins of Cheltenham (Wyncote, Pa.) and Nicole Collins of Cedar Hill (Texas).

The AmeriCup features eight teams from the FIBA Americas zone with the top four teams advancing to the 2026 FIBA U17 Women's World Cup in Czechia. The USA drew Group A with Argentina, Puerto Rico and Venezuela and are 13-0 all time against those countries.

The Americans have won gold in seven of the eight editions of the tournament, including the last four.
