Baseball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Manchester lost against Taylor County last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Manchester Blue Devils came up short against the Taylor County Vikings, falling 17-7. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly ten runs.

Landon Kee was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kee was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Christian Whitaker was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Jayden Hodo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Manchester and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Taylor County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Taylor County beat Manchester by a score of 14-4 later that day.
