Softball Recap: Kiefer Wins Going Away Against Newcastle

Kiefer had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Newcastle on Friday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Racers. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Addison Dossett was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Triniti Roskydoll, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Kiefer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Kiefer's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Newcastle, they moved to 9-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Kiefer is taking a road trip to take on Kellyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Newcastle, they will challenge Silo at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Racers 4.1, the Rebels 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
