While Academy of Our Lady of Peace didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-24), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 54-31 margin over the Chula Vista Spartans on Tuesday. The Pilots haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Despite the loss, Chula Vista still got an impressive performance from Perez Isis, who shot 41% from the field en route to 19 points and five rebounds. That was a full 61.3% of the Spartans' points, marking the fourth time in a row Isis has posted more than a third of the team's points. Guinto Cote Lu also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Chula Vista, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-41 victory against Kearny on the 3rd. As for Chula Vista, they will take on Valhalla at 6:30 p.m. on the 11th.
