Falcon had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won by a run and slipped past the Pueblo South Colts 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Colts last Friday, they had to take a 7-2 loss.

Broden Cox made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Cox was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaron Jaquez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Holtz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Falcon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Pueblo South, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-9.

Coming up, Falcon will take on Canon City at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. Pueblo South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
