Basketball Recap: Dymally Challengers vs. Hawkins Hawks
Dymally was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 61-5 loss at the hands of the Hawkins Hawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Challengers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-0 back in December of 2024.
Coretta Williams was her usual excellent self, putting up 28 points for Hawkins. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Hawkins' points. Another player making a difference was Sainiah Jackson, who posted 12 points.
Dymally's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hawkins, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Dymally has already played their next contest (against Port of Los Angeles), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hawkins will face off against Locke at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Locke: 23, Hawkins: 27.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
