Weatherford gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Monday. They came out on top against the Lookeba-Sickles Panthers by a score of  6-1. The  victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won six  contests in a row  dating back to last season.
 Maci Thain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits and racked up 14 Ks.
 At the plate,  Kaitlyn Bryant and  Jossalynn Schulz did most of the damage at the plate:  Bryant  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  double, while  Schulz  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.  Karsyn Hix was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 Looking ahead, Weatherford will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Cache  at 2:00  p.m. Lookeba-Sickles does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
