Baseball Recap: West Laurens Takes a Loss

West Laurens managed to slip by Mary Persons the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The West Laurens Raiders lost 17-8 to the Mary Persons Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

West Laurens' loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Mary Persons, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 3-9 record.

Looking ahead, West Laurens will head out to square off against Westside at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Westside has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.46 runs per game on average), something West Laurens will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mary Persons, they will take on Troup County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
