Basketball Game Preview: Great Oak Wolfpack vs. Murrieta Mesa Rams

The Great Oak Wolfpack and the Murrieta Mesa Rams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Great Oak will be strutting in after a victory while Murrieta Mesa will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Great Oak was able to grind out a solid win over Temecula Valley, taking the game 46-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolfpack.

Meanwhile, Murrieta Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a hard 39-25 fall against Vista Murrieta. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 808th, while the Broncos are ranked 346th).

Great Oak is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Murrieta Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 7-19.

Everything came up roses for Great Oak against Murrieta Mesa in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 48-19 victory. Will Great Oak repeat their success, or does Murrieta Mesa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
