Volleyball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hoover was the 3-0 winner over Auburn when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Hoover took Auburn into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 20-25, 15-25, 15-10.

Aliyah Pooler paced Hoover's offense, picking up 17 kills. Pooler got some help from Addison Jenkins and her 28 assists. Finally, Sydnie Broom kept Hoover's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 15-20. As for Auburn, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-12.

Looking ahead, Hoover will be taking part in a tournament against Faith Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Auburn, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Bayside Academy on the 9th.
