Football Recap: Peyton Panthers vs. Ellicott Thunderhawks

Peyton extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-6. They took a blow against the Ellicott Thunderhawks, falling 40-8. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Thunderhawks since Thursday.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed six in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Corbin Pena, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

As for Ellicott, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Allen Kuhns and Jairus Martin. Kuhns rushed for 131 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry while Martin rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Ellicott is undefeated when Martin posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise.

As of now, neither Peyton nor the Thunderhawks have any future games scheduled.
