Soccer Game Preview: University vs. Archie Williams

The University Red Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. University has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 17 goals over their last three contests.

University barely beat Lick-Wilmerding the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Tigers on Tuesday. Ofeibea Dah had the honor of scoring the game-winner for University.

University used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Lick-Wilmerding. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Dah (80), Maya Spero (77), and Sophie McFadden (80). The trio had averaged 56.8, 51.6, and 43 minutes respectively before Tuesday's match. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Dah scored a goal, while she scored a goal.

Meanwhile, Archie Williams kept a clean sheet against Pinole Valley on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans, sneaking past 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Archie Williams were the better team in the second half.

Archie Williams' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
