Baseball Recap: Rockdale County Finds Home Field Redemption Against South Gwinnett

There's no place like home for Rockdale County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the South Gwinnett Comets by a score of 8-5 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won five in a row.

JaMarcus Knox was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Rockdale County is undefeated when Knox posts two or more runs, but 3-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Wayde Maddox, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Rockdale County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Gwinnett only posted a batting average of .200.

Rockdale County's record now sits at 6-13. As for South Gwinnett, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Rockdale County will have a chance to go back-to-back against South Gwinnett: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
