Basketball Recap: Santa Rosa Academy Rangers vs. Temecula Prep Patriots
Santa Rosa Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 57-10 loss at the hands of the Temecula Prep Patriots. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-8 last Monday.

Despite the defeat, Santa Rosa Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madison Flores posted no points and 13 boards. Flores is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games she's played. Maribella Mesa also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first boards of the season.
Bailey Litt was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 15 steals for Temecula Prep. Those 15 steals gave Litt a new career-high. Abby Bennett was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.
Santa Rosa Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Temecula Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Santa Rosa Academy will square off against San Jacinto Valley Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. San Jacinto Valley Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
