Soccer Recap: Mt. Shasta Takes a Loss

Mt. Shasta's game on Thursday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Weed Cougars by a score of 3-2. Mt. Shasta were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Weed apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Wyatt Garcia wasn't going to let Weed walk away unscathed as he scored both of Mt. Shasta's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Mt. Shasta has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four matchups. As for Weed, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Mt. Shasta will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weed, they have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Butte Valley on the 4th.
