Softball Recap: Perry's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Perry won the last time they faced South Hamilton and things went their way on Friday too. The Bluejays walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Hawks. The win was familiar territory for the Bluejays, who have now won three contests in a row.

Christina Kanealy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Karagyn Whelchel was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in June of 2024. Lily Hollingsworth also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Perry's victory bumped their record up to 6-8-1. As for South Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-18.

Looking ahead, Perry will venture away from home to face off against Grand View Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Hamilton has already played their next matchup (against Ogden), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
