Softball Game Preview: Clear Lake Lions vs. Webster City Lynx

Clear Lake is 2-8 against Webster City since June of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Lions will welcome the Lynx at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Clear Lake narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Iowa Falls-Alden 3-1. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Cadets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Webster City's hitters rose to the challenge against an Indians pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.81 runs allowed on Thursday. The Lynx were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Pocahontas. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lynx.

Webster City's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Clear Lake, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.

Everything went Clear Lake's way against Webster City in their previous meeting on June 4th, as Clear Lake made off with a 15-7 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Lynx have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
