With a playoff win on the line, Excelsior Springs rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Benton Cardinals. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Brodie Querry, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Spence Gibbs was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Excelsior Springs' win bumped their record up to 26-7. As for Benton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-17.

Looking ahead, Excelsior Springs will challenge St. Michael the Archangel at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
