Soccer Game Preview: Hart vs. Westlake

The Hart Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Westlake Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Westlake will be up against a hot Hart squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Hart's defense stepped up to hand Valencia a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. Give the Hawks' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, on TuesdayCalabasas kept up with Westlake until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Westlake put the hurt on Calabasas with a sharp 5-1 victory. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Coyotes are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hart's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Westlake, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

Hart took their win against Westlake when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Does Hart have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westlake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
