Softball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 7-4 to the Oskaloosa Indians. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-6 loss on Friday.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Oskaloosa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-14.

Looking ahead, Newton will look to defend their home field on Monday against Indianola at 5:30 p.m. As for Oskaloosa, they have already played their next game, a 12-5 loss against Creston on the 21st.
