Soccer Recap: Washington-Wilkes Comes Up Short

Washington-Wilkes lost against Lincoln County back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 8-2 to the Red Devils. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Washington-Wilkes were already down 6-0.

Pierce Wilkinson and Emiliano Aburto scored both of Washington-Wilkes' goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Washington-Wilkes is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10. As for Lincoln County, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Washington-Wilkes didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 7-2 loss against Athens Christian on the 16th. As for Lincoln County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 10-1 victory against McCormick on the 16th.
