Basketball Game Preview: Penns Valley Area Rams vs. Bedford Bisons

After both having extra time off, the Penns Valley Area Rams and the Bedford Bisons will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Penns Valley Area is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Penns Valley Area came up into this matchup off a tough 23-point defeat two weeks ago. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Bellwood-Antis by a score of 54-52 last Friday.

Despite the loss, Penns Valley Area saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Paige Johnson posted 15 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Sydnie Dalton, who had eight points.

Meanwhile, Bedford was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday as they fell 37-32 to Richland. The Bisons have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Penns Valley Area's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Bedford, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.

Penns Valley Area didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bedford in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 36-31 victory. Will Penns Valley Area repeat their success, or does Bedford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
