Soccer Game Preview: Valley vs. Fairfield

The Valley Vikings and the Fairfield Falcons will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley, who comes in off a win.

Valley headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for six straight, but Foothill let them put that streak behind them. Valley never let Foothill onto the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Vikings' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Fairfield was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Armijo an easy 4-1 win. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Falcons were already down 3-0.

Valley's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for Fairfield, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
