Soccer Recap: Sheldon's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McClatchy, Sheldon was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Elk Grove Thundering Herd. Ahliana Tran had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Huskies.

Sheldon moved to 2-7-1 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Elk Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4-2.

Sheldon and Elk Grove could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Sheldon (ranked 781st) will meet Pleasant Grove (ranked 59th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Elk Grove will challenge Laguna Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 451 places (812 vs. 361).
