Softball Recap: Mary Persons Takes a Loss

Mary Persons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the LaGrange Grangers. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Grangers earlier this season, when they won 7-3.

Mary Persons' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 13-8. As for LaGrange, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Mary Persons will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Spalding at 5:30 p.m. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for LaGrange, they will head out to take on Troup County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
