Basketball Recap: Oceanside Takes a Loss

Oceanside lost against Canyon Crest Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Oceanside Pirates were outmatched by the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens and fell 69-42. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jaeliin Watts and Tan Nguyen certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Watts dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Nguyen posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave Watts a new career-high in boards.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Oceanside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-53 loss against Mission Vista on the 12th. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-33 victory against San Dieguito Academy on the 7th.
