Softball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

The Lexington Minutemen came up short against the Marshall Owls on Saturday, falling 10-3. The Minutemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mireya Gonzalez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Hunter Adkins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Marshall, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lexington and Marshall will both be playing Cameron the next time they take the field. The Minutemen will head out to face the Dragons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Owls will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
