Volleyball Recap: Banning Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gardena on Monday, Banning came back down to earth. The Pilots fell 3-1 to the San Pedro Pirates on Thursday. The Pilots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-16, 25-20.

Banning's offense was headlined by Joshlyn Harris and Angelina Navarrette, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Azul Elias and her 33 assists. She and Navarrette didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Banning's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for San Pedro, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-11.

Banning has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Mayfield on the 26th. As for San Pedro, they will host Narbonne at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
