Softball Recap: Newnan Falls Short of East Paulding in the Playoffs

Newnan and East Paulding squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Newnan had to settle for second. They lost 18-5 to the Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on Monday.

Cambree Thompson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Aubree Webb was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Newnan dropped their record down to 12-19 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for East Paulding, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Newnan nor East Paulding have any future games scheduled.
