Soccer Recap: Duarte Takes a Loss

Duarte lost against Azusa two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Duarte Falcons fell just short of the Azusa Aztecs by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 795th, while the Aztecs are ranked 380th).

Duarte now has a losing record at 4-5-2. As for Azusa, they pushed their record up to 11-0-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Duarte will venture away from home to square off against Sierra Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra Vista's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Azusa has already played their next contest (against Baldwin Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
