Basketball Recap: Arvin Takes a Loss

The Arvin Bears lost 47-27 to the Bishop Union Broncos on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 739th, while the Broncos are ranked 342nd).

Kristin Allen was her usual excellent self, as she made all 9 shots she took from beyond the arc for 18 points along with five boards and four steals for Bishop Union. Allen is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanaiya Lambert, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Arvin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Bishop Union, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Arvin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 31-25 loss against East Bakersfield on the 27th. As for Bishop Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 32-30 victory against Templeton on the 27th.
