Baseball Recap: Angola Beats Eastern for Their Third Straight Win

Angola entered their tilt with Eastern on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Comets.

Jackson Steury made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last two contests. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Myles Steury, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Gavin Hunt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Angola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern only posted an OBP of .296.

Angola's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Eastern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Angola will take on Leo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
