Recap: Carroll Cougars vs. Delphi Community Oracles
The Carroll Cougars entered their tilt with the Delphi Community Oracles with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Carroll claimed a resounding 70-39 win over Delphi Community at home. Carroll might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carroll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alli Harness, who scored 22 points along with three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Harness has scored at least 25% of Carroll's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Wagner, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and seven assists.
When it comes to explaining why Delphi Community lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Jenna Roth. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Roth's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Lacey Pickering was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Carroll's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Delphi Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Carroll will head out on the road to face off against McCutcheon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McCutcheon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games. Delphi Community won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Peru at 1:30 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Peru focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
