Recap: West Valley Mustangs vs. Liberty Bison
This season hasn't been kind to the West Valley Mustangs, who are still winless after their fourth match. They took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty on Tuesday. West Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Liberty apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Liberty got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AJ Enguillado out in front who scored ten points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Enguillado has scored at least 25% of Liberty's points. Another player making a difference was Kelli Harris-Wellman, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
West Valley has fallen quite a ways from their 16-5 record last season and are now at 0-4. As for Liberty, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
West Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Jacinto Leadership Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 20th. Hopefully San Jacinto Leadership Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. Liberty will be home for the holidays to greet Citrus Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
