Basketball Recap: Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic vs. Upper Merion Area Vikings
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gwynedd Mercy Academy, the Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 38-22 victory over Upper Merion Area.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devon Maiden, who scored nine points along with four steals. That was a full 40.9% of Upper Merion Area's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Kokenberger, who scored six points.
Mt. St. Joseph Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Upper Merion Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Mt. St. Joseph Academy will be playing at home against the Jems at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Upper Merion Area, they will head out on the road to square off against the Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Interboro is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
