Football Recap: Wheeling Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Wheeling Central Catholic's offense. They were outmatched by the Fort Frye Cadets and fell 40-0. The Maroon Knights have struggled against the Cadets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Gavin Rauch had an outrageously good game for Fort Frye as he rushed for 102 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. The dominant performance also gave Rauch a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Tyce Beardsley also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.

Wheeling Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fort Frye, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Wheeling Central Catholic has already played their next contest, a 47-13 win against Williamstown on the 12th. As for Fort Frye, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 28-0 victory against Waterford on the 12th.
