Soccer Recap: Northwood-Kensett Comes Up Short

After flying high against Clear Lake on Friday, Northwood-Kensett came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the Roosevelt Roughriders on Tuesday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Northwood-Kensett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Roosevelt are ranked fifth).

Northwood-Kensett has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-2 record this season. As for Roosevelt, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0-1.

Coming up, Northwood-Kensett is taking a road trip to take on Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Roosevelt, they have already played their next matchup, a 5-0 victory against West Fork on the 6th.
