Softball Recap: Wheeler County Comes Up Short

Wheeler County entered their match against Wilcox County on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 10-2.

Wheeler County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Wilcox County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-7.

Coming up, Wheeler County will head out to challenge First Preparatory Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.83 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wilcox County, they will be playing at home against Furlow Charter School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
