Softball Recap: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles
D'Evelyn gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles 18-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jaguars also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

D'Evelyn let Myla Seda and Lyla Nagy run wild. Seda went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Nagy went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Nagy is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Nava Basquez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
D'Evelyn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Vista only posted an OBP of .308.
Mountain Vista's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. D'Evelyn is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Bear Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mountain Vista, they will head out to take on Cherry Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
