Football Game Preview: Dexter Demons vs. Cobre Indians + How To Watch

The Dexter Demons will head out to face off against the Cobre Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dexter will be strutting in after a victory while Cobre will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Dexter against Hatch Valley as the team secured a 49-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won three contests by 27 points or more so far this season.

Dexter's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cj Granados, who rushed for 66 yards and three TDs, and Garet Gonzalez, who rushed for 124 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. Granados also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, making one tackle, and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dexter was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 331 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Dexter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gonzalez and Granados.

Meanwhile, Cobre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 45-12 defeat at the hands of Hatch Valley. Indians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bears since Friday.

Cobre's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Dexter, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Dexter against Cobre in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Demons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
