Football Recap: Hesston Falls Despite Big Games from Jerick Humphreys and Blayne Wilson + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hesston can now relate to. They fell 17-13 to the Rock Creek Mustangs on Friday. The Swathers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in November of 2022.

Hesston's loss came despite strong showings from Blayne Wilson and Jerick Humphreys. Wilson rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown, while Humphreys rushed for 85 yards and one score.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rock Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Perkins, who picked up 116 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Perkins really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards. Tate Smith was another key player, throwing for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes.

Hesston has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Rock Creek, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Hesston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rock Creek, they will square off against Cheney on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mustangs 6.6, the Cardinals 13.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
